Continued improvements were made on the CEM gas masks up through the Armistice in November 1918. Several later variations are shown on this page.
Corrected English Mask
This later variation of the mask has glass lenses, yellow cannister, and the third style bracket protecting the exhale valve.
Corrected English Mask
Here is another later variation of the CEM. This mask has celluloid lenses, and uses the later green filter cannister. Note the brown colored cloth covering the mask hose, which was used with the green cannisters.
Richardson-Flory-Kops Mask
The Richardson-Flory-Kops was an improved version of the Corrected English Mask. This mask uses glass lenses, the third type of valve guard, and green cannister. Also the face piece is slightly wider than that of the CEM. The key distinguishing feature of the RFK is the harness which used two straps at the top of the head, rather than one found on the CEM. Notice the face seal inside the mask is stitched together, rather than glued as seen on the CEM masks.
